Boksen.nl | Nederland komt langzaam op gang tijdens de Cologne Boxing World Cup

De Nederlanders kwamen de eerste dag van de Cologne Boxing World Cup 2021 langzaam op gang.

Husniye Calisir (60kg, dames) verliest met een score van 5-0 van de Braziliaanse wereldkampioene 2019 Beatriz Fereirra. Tony Jas (69kg, heren) verliest nipt van de Duitser Nick Bier met een score van 3-2. Gradus Kraus (75kg, heren) wint 5-0 van Vlad Gavrilliuc (Moldova) en komt vandaag (vrijdag) in de halve finale uit tegen de meervoudig Duits kampioen Andrej Mersliakov. Enrico Lacruz wint 5-0 van de Franse militair wereldkampioen Enzo Grau en treedt in de halve finale aan tegen de Braziliaan Wanderson Oliveira (5e plaats WK, goud South America Games).

Nouchka treft in haar halve finale de zeer ervaren ex prof wereldkampioene Christina Hammer uit Duitsland, die een poging wil wagen zich voor de spelen te plaatsen .

The bout of the day

¨Netherlands’ Enrico La Cruz claimed bronze medals at the 2015 EUBC European Boxing Championships and at the 2019 European Games. The most experienced Dutch boxer had a strong rival in the quarter-finals, France’s Enzo Grau who achieved bronze at the 2016 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships. The younger French used his safest distance in the first round and surprised La Cruz with his technical skills. The Dutch increased his tempo in the second period therefore the final verdict was depended on their performances in the third round. La Cruz was slightly better most of the aspects of boxing and eliminated the 21-year-old French boxer in Cologne.

Germany’s Nick Bier replaced some of his injured teammates at the Yekaterinburg 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships and won two contests in his debuting event. The 21-year-old German met with Netherlands’ Tony Jas who returned to the sport after a break. The German was a hard target for the Dutch, he used his footwork well enough in the first and second rounds. The young Dutch had excellent stamina and tried to turn back the contest in Cologne but Bier celebrated his success winning the tough fight by split decision.¨
