Dragoljub Radovic, AIBA Supervisor en Secretary General of Serbian Boxing Federation, brengt verslag uit aan de EUBC van zijn bezoek aan de tweede Eindhoven Box Cup.
Second edition of Eindhoven Box Cup was held in beautiful city of Eindhoven from October 19th till October 23rd. Elite men and women boxers from 15 countries competed at the venue that was located in elegant Van Der Valk hotel. A lot of good boxing, exellent judging and a good atmosphere among the participants marked this great tournament.
37 women boxers took part at Eindhoven Box Cup. Most successeful national team was Russia which they won six gold medals, one silver and one bronze. Russians came with a boxers in all eight weight categories, since there was no any girls in 81 kg and +81 kg.
In men’s competition, there was 64 boxers in ten weight categories. The audience in Van Der Valk hotel have had the oportunity to see a fireworks for three days of tournament. There was a lot of good and promising boxers such as Lewis Richardson from England, James McGivern from Ireland and Sammy Wagensveld from Netherlands, as long as well known champions such as Nouchka Fontijn and Peter Mullenberg.
At the end, trophy for the best male boxer was given to Saparamadu from Sri Lanka, best female boxer was Svetlana Soluianova from Russia, and the best talent (under 22) was Akash Tuqir from England.
